EXCEPTIONAL ABQ YOUNG WOMAN SELECTED AS GRAND WORTHY ADVISOR FOR NEW MEXICO

18-Year-Old Miss Sage to head New Mexico’s Grand Assembly, Champions Child Advocacy Initiative

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (June 2024) – The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a prominent service and leadership organization for young women in New Mexico for the last 91 years*, has announced its newest Grand Worthy Advisor. Sage, an 18-year-old from Albuquerque, will lead the state-wide organization for the 2024-2025 term.

Sage, a member of Ashlar Assembly #58 sponsored by Temple Lodge #6, A.F. & A. M., was a standout student during her time at Sandia Preparatory School. She held various leadership roles in student government, was part of the state championship-winning dance team in 2022, and was actively involved in the drama program, notably as Assistant Director for “Shrek the Musical” in 2022 and starring as “Wednesday” in the 2023 production of “The Addams Family.” Sage, a passionate dancer and fine arts enthusiast, will be attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree beginning this fall.

As the 89th* Grand Worthy Advisor of New Mexico, Sage will lead girls statewide in community service projects and leadership development activities, in addition to representing the Grand Jurisdiction of New Mexico at national and international levels.

“Rainbow provides girls the opportunity to rediscover themselves as young women,” said Sage, Grand Worthy Advisor-elect for the Grand Jurisdiction of New Mexico. “This may be their first chance to find their voice…” Her state service project will focus on supporting New Mexico Kids Matter, an organization dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children by empowering community volunteers to speak up for them in the foster care system. Under Sage’s leadership, Rainbow Girls from across the state will provide both monetary and in-kind donations to support this vital cause during her year-long term.

Sage’s installation will take place during the 90th* annual Grand Assembly of New Mexico “Traveling in Search of our Pot of Gold” Grand Session, held in Albuquerque from June 26 -June 30, 2024.
